Calculate scale dimensions and relative aspect ratios instantly.
What is Aspect Ratio?
Aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between the width and height of an image, screen, or design canvas. Typically written as two numbers separated by a colon (such as 16:9), it describes how wide an image is relative to how tall it is, regardless of its actual size in pixels.
Maintaining the correct aspect ratio is vital in digital graphics, web design, photography, and video production. If you resize an image's width without adjusting its height proportionally, the image will stretch or compress, leading to distortion. This tool calculates target sizes automatically to preserve the original visual ratio.
How to Use the Aspect Ratio Calculator

Define the Base Aspect Ratio
Enter your original dimensions in pixels (e.g. 1920 and 1080) to capture the base ratio.
- 2
Use Built-In Presets
Click any preset button (such as 16:9 for HDTV, 4:3 for retro TV, or 1:1 for square Instagram posts) to quickly populate dimensions.
- 3
Select Target Calculation Mode
